L'Ottetto
Nel Luglio 2004 Tristan Honsinger fonda eau naturelle, ottetto acustico composto da giovani emergenti da lui stesso ha selezionati e preparati per più di un anno. La musica si snoda attraverso un repertorio sempre fresco e divertente, accessibile anche ad un pubblico non edotto.
Il processo compositivo si muove su strutture aperte, talvolta partendo da temi famosi o accattivanti, ma il linguaggio è libero da connotazioni stilistiche definite: infatti l'interazione tra i musicisti è fondata sulla loro capacità di reagire rapidamente di agli stimoli proposti dagli altri componenti del gruppo, stimoli talvolta anche di natura musicalmente inconsueta.
Capacità associativa, repentini ed imprevedibili cambiamenti nella musica, senso dello spazio, sono gli ingredienti di base che costituiscono una musica che concede molto al gioco dell'improvvisazione e sempre più si avvicina al concetto di musica intuitiva. Ironia, comicità e senso del grottesco dilagano, facendo di Eau Naturelle uno spettacolo coinvolgente al di là dei generi musicali.
Tristan Honsinger
Nella sua trentennale esperienza il violoncellista americano ha collaborato con tutti i maggiori esponenti delle avanguardie improvvisative, tra cui Cecil Taylor, Anthony Braxton ed Evan Parker, solo per citarne alcuni. La sua opera è sempre caratterizzata da una purezza artistica senza compromessi che lo vede anche profondo innovatore dello suo strumento. Oggi, con Misha Mengleberg e Han Bennik, è membro stabile di ICP ( Istant Composer Pool ).
Chris Iemulo
Pur scegliendo uno strumento non facile come la chitarra classica si distingue presto per fantasia e creatività suonando con maestri del calibro di Barre Phillips, scrivendo anche musica per colonne sonore e spettacoli teatrali. Attualmente e' residente a Berlino.
Antonio Borghini
Bassista emergente di levatura europea è membro stabile del collettivo Basse Sfere, suona in diverse formazioni tra cui spiccano un trio con Hamid Drake ed il quartetto Dilemma, con Fabrzio Puglisi, Edo Marraffa e lo stesso Honsinger.
Stefano Scippa
Sopranista puro, attualmente si occupa di progetti multimediali e musica antica, che interpretata applicando le tecniche dell'improvvisazione moderna. Tra gli altri ha suonato con Markus Stockhausen e studiato con il maestro assoluto del suo strumento, Steve Lacy.
Andrea Manno
Il suo contralto si distingue per la spigolosa geometricità delle linee che gli conferiscono un liguaggio originale ed imprevedibile. Tra le esperienze di maggior rilievo annovera collaborazioni con Markus Stockhausen e Joelle Leandre.
Gianluca Varone
Tenorista dalla voce profonda ed espressiva, si esalta particolarmente nella libera improvvisazione dove è capace di prodursi in passaggi di alto lirismo. Il suo curriculum lo ha visto impegnato con artisti del calibro di Barre Phillips, Markus Stockhausen e Joelle Leandre.
Diego Cofone
Polistrumentista ed eclettico compositore di computer music, ricopre nell'ottetto il ruolo di pianista. Di pari livello è la sua abilità alle ance, sax tenore e clarinetto basso, in altre formazioni. E' stato selezionato quale artista residente da Fabbrica di Benetton per il 2005.
Giovanni Falvo
Batterista toscano versatile e polivalente, è versato in generi che spaziano dal jazz alla libera improvvisazione. Importanti esperienze formative a fianco di Hamid Drake sono seguite da prestigiose collaborazioni con la Leandre e Barre Phillips.

The Octet
During his italian stay - July 2004 - Tristan Honsinger founded Eau Naturelle, brand new acoustic octet led by himself including emerging young musicians of his choice. Tristan personally trained the band for more than one year until today. The music is largely based upon open structures, leaving wide room for wild impromptus, sometimes romantic moods and even some fine theatrical action. As it is often Tristan's case, the group language defies stylistic connotation: interplay relies mainly upon musicians' ability to react quickly and adapt to sound environment that other group members may abruptly introduce, stimulus of sometimes unexpected nature. The processing of musical information thus is carried out by means of associations, better than current in - use harmonic rules. Live performances flow easily through a repertoire that's lively and refreshing, scratch built from captivating motives accessible even to untrained audiences, yet retaining depth and never loosing tension.
Swift changes, sense of space, playful attitude are the basic constituents of a group nearer to the concept of intuitive music more than the jazz tradition. Irony, comedy and grotesque equally abounds, making of Eau Naturelle an entertaining show beyond genres.
Tristan Honsinger
During a thirty years tenure experience, most of it spent in the firing line of the avantgarde, the american born cellist shared collaborations with quite all the outstanding personalities of improvised music, from Cecil Taylor to Anthony Braxton, Derek Bailey and Evan Parker, only to cite some. His work, unceasingly characterized by artistic purity with no compromises, puts him in the front rank alongside cello innovators. Today he's a senior member of ICP ( Istant Composer Pool ), together with Misha Mengleberg and Han Bennik.
Stefano Scippa
Apart being a pure soprano saxophonist, he's currently involved in multimedia projects, mixing acoustic and electronic sound with videos. He also lead a trio that apply modern improvisational techniques to early ancient music. Among others he played with Markus Stockhausen and studied with the undisputed master of his choice instrument, Steve Lacy.
Chris Iemulo
He soon emerged as a talent for imagination and originality with his choice instrument - the classic guitar - playing with masters as Phil Minton and Barre Phillips. He also wrote scores for several theatre shows and movies. He's now living in Berlin.
Diego Cofone
This gifted multi - intsrumentalist player and computer music composer, sits in the octet as a sparkling pianist but could evenly play reeds with equal skill, tenor sax and bass clarinet specifically. He's been recently selected as resident artist by Fabrica of Benetton for the year 2005.
Antonio Borghini
Emerging european talent and stable member of Association Basse Sfere, he plays double bass in various settings as in the trio with Hamid Drake and the sextet Dilemma, with Honsinger himself.
Gianluca Varone
His tenor sax voice, deep and intense, exalts itself in towering solos where Gianluca can produce statements of highest lyricism. His curriculum sees him alongside with such artists as Markus Stockhausen and Joelle Leandre.
Andrea Manno
The lines he plays on his alto highlight that particular angularity that lends his language sharp uniqueness and unpredictable turns. He has studied with Markus Stockhausen and Barre Phillips
Giovanni Falvo
The tuscan drummer is an all around and well versed musician who opens himself to diverse styles, spacing from standard jazz to free music improvisation. Beyond some formative experience with Hamid Drake he recently attended the drum chair in Paolo Damiani's Alea Ensemble that was well recorded on CD for Splasch records label.
